چکیده

This research was interested in the use of natural colorants to replace hazardous synthetic pigments plastic polymer industry. The colors were selected from local plants indigenous southeast Asia, which Hibiscus sabdariffa roselle calyx (RS) and Caesapinia sappan Linn heartwood (SP). Natural colorant extracts used as additives poly(lactic acid ) (PLA). These manufactured using a twin screws extruder blow film obtain biodegradable thin films for packaging materials. Biodegradable characterized by color index, light barrier properties, water vapor transmission (WVTR), morphology, mechanical chemical properties. results showed high compatibility between PLA confirmed via SEM morphology. Moreover, have associated with added RS SP extracts, pink tone yellow-orange film. Films incorporated also possessed improved reduced 98.66% 78.00% UV-A region 99.33% 90.00% visible region. Water rate decreased incorporation 4.02 g⋅m-2*day 2.98 at 7 days 1.66 1.59 14 days. containing had higher tensile strength modulus than pure films. properties improvement confirm that these are suitable producing

Biodegradable Polylactic Acid (PLA) Microstructures for Scaffold Applications

In this research, we present a simple and cost effective soft lithographic process to fabricate PLA scaffolds for tissue engineering. In which, the negative photoresist JSR THB-120N was spun on a glass subtract followed by conventional UV lithographic processes to fabricate the master to cast the PDMS elastomeric mold. A thin poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) layer was used as a mode release such that ...

Polylactic acid (PLA)

This website provides an excellent overview of PLA as a polymer, its properties, and manufacture. This web article describes the production of lactic acid from biomass by microbial fermentation coupled to a poly-merization process to make PLA. The article is a bit dated and its industrial projections are now seen to be a bit over-optimistic. NatureWorks is the company that started large-scale p...

Study of PLA Printability with Flexography Ink: Comparison with Common Packaging Polymer

Today, the economic consumption of biodegradable polymers is of capital importance in many applications. One of the most commonly used biopolymers is polylactic acid (PLA). The printability of the biodegradable film has not been fully investigated. This work tested the printability of polylactic acid (PLA) films and compared the print qualities to common packaging films like low density pol...
